Support for Vegan Clients

*Please note that this does not mean that I only work with vegan clients. This is a specialism I hold, and a branch of my services. In my practice I work with both vegan and non-vegan clients.*

As a vegan myself I am able to offer unique support to you, whether you are transitioning to veganism or are well established.

Veganism is more than a lifestyle choice - it is a much misunderstood philosophy based on peace and compassion and opposes cruelty and exploitation, and as such impacts on many areas of our lives - more than simply what we eat! Veganism is not a diet.

It can be hard transitioning to veganism and the experience can feel quite traumatic - especially for those who may have watched documentaries about animal agriculture and farming practices and so I want to support those who have chosen the vegan way of life and give people a place to talk without fear of judgement or misunderstanding.

Being vegan myself means that I already understand the philosophy and way of living, so as my client, you don't have to worry about explaining your beliefs. I have first-hand experience in knowing the challenges of living as a vegan in a non-vegan world.

Talking to someone who really understands veganism can be an extremely valuable experience. This way of living can at times feel extremely lonely and isolating and sometimes affects our relationship with others. Whether it's family members who don’t understand our lifestyle choices, or work colleagues who make us the butt of their jokes, I get it.

Working with vegan clients over the years, along with additional training in this area has helped me to understand the impact of Secondary Traumatic Stress which is often experienced when witnessing animal abuse and exploitation. This is particularly relevant for you if you are an animal activist. Being up close with and witnessing abuse, suffering and exploitation wears even the strongest of us down and it’s important to get the right support.

Another common struggle for vegans is Activist or Empath Burnout. Once your eyes have been opened to abuse and suffering, it can be hard for vegans to live in the world as it currently is and to find their own joy and happiness without feeling overwhelmed with strong emotions of sadness, guilt anger and frustration.

Together we can find ways to manage stress, improve communication with the non-vegans in your life and implement boundaries to help you live an authentic life.

This is a branch of my practice and does not mean that I do not work with those who don't share my philosophy - I am happy to work with clients of all beliefs.
