A safe, supportive space for vegans to come together. Share the challenges of of living in a non-vegan world, find support, learn tips to build resilience and enjoy some self-care with some relaxing meditation.
Living as a vegan in a predominantly non-vegan world can be tough sometimes. Making the decision to go vegan doesn't come without its challenges. Often our close relationships are affected and we can find ourselves pulling back from those around us when we feel like they just don't understand us.
This can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation and a sense that we are different from those closest to us, especially if we don't have many other vegans in our lives. Many vegans suffer from burnout and compassion fatigue, especially if they are activists or quite active in their advocacy for animals and calling out cruelty and exploitation.
As a vegan myself, I am excited to offer this workshop as a safe space for other vegans to come together to find support with specific challenges relating to their veganism. Drawing on my work as a therapist and the work of much respected vegan psychologist Dr. Melanie Joy, I will share my knowledge and insights around living as a vegan and will offer tips to build resilience alongside helping you increase your self-awareness around your own patterns of relating to others. We will be reflecting on our own vegan journeys through journal prompts and will end with a relaxing meditation to promote a sense of wellbeing. The group will be fairly small, 8 participants max.
